What is Drilling? A Beginner’s Guide About Machining.
What is Drilling?
Drilling is a cutting process using a drill bit to create holes in the workplace, this process is the one most common method used in the machining process. Here’s in CNC drilling have many scopes, starts from simple into the complex one.
CNC Drilling
Many of us have a regular hand drilling machine, these tools used a drill bit to makes a hole in the material or in the workplace, Actually, there’s a slight difference between regular and CNC drilling.
From our last updates, we know that CNC machine is operated by computer code, actually the concept of drilling in CNC and hand drill has a lot of similarities, but with CNC the works will be simpler because the operator only needs to set up the computer-aided design and manufacturing and let the machine do the works.
Benefits
To summarize why should we use CNC drilling rather than hand drill , here is some benefits of this method :
- Shorter lead times.
- Improve the quality and accuracy of the products.
- Can do complicated design.
- More uniform.
- Provide varying diameter of holes.
The image below shows stepped holes from our product, from this we can tell the products is more uniform than using hand drill. This can be acquired using CNC drilling method, check out our latest medical application products here.
